The Map is an invaluable resource when scouring the harsh landscape of Ashenfall. It will help you track your active quests, get your bearings when you find yourself lost and highlight points of interest.
Accessing the Map
You can access the map at any point from the MAP tab of the in-game menu, or by hitting M.
You'll see the areas of Ashenfall you've already discovered with any unexplored areas shrouded in fog. The more you explore, the more of the map will be revealed!
Using the Map
Moving around the Map
- Click and hold Left-Click to drag around the Map and adjust your view
Zoom in and out
- Use the Scroll Wheel to zoom in or out, wherever the cursor is focused on the Map
Setting/unsetting markers
- You can set a custom marker anywhere on the map by Right-Clicking on the area you want to mark
- Once you're done with a marker, Right-Click it again to remove it
There are many different types of markers you can place, depending on what you're trying to track. Use the one that feels the most appropriate!
Pinging a location on the Map
- You can ping a location for everybody in your world by using Middle-Click on the area you want to mark
- The players on your world will see a waypoint appear in-game to follow; it'll also show you how far away you are from the pinged location!
Tracking quests
On the left of the Map, you'll see both your active Primary and Secondary quests. Primary quests will be shown in gold and Secondary quests shown in silver.
Under the title of each quest you'll see the next steps you need to take to progress that questline, as well as some additional information about the quest itself.
If you need to visit a part of Ashenfall to proceed a quest, you'll see a marker (gold or silver, respectively!) on the map showing you where you need to head to progress.
Primary quests will always be active and always appear on your map. For Secondary quests, you'll need to toggle each quest you want to track by Left-Clicking the quest to toggle it on or off.
