What are skills?
Skills are a measure of your characters abilities, and your progress in each skill is a measure of how far you have mastered said ability. The more you master an ability the better you'll be able to perform that action, and the more buffs/perks you'll unlock as a result!
How do I level up my skills?
Performing actions associated with a skill earns you experience points (or XP.) As you earn XP your level in the relevant skill will increase for greater and greater rewards. Each skill is progressed in different ways, such as:
- Chopping down trees/logs for Woodcutting
- Building bases, structures and furnishings for Construction
- Cooking/eating food and meals for Cooking
You'll know you're progressing your skill mastery when the relevant progress bar appears at the top of your screen, just below your compass. Not only will you see how much XP you're gaining, you'll also see how far away you are from your next level up!
Viewing the Skill Tree
You can view your progress in each skill at anytime. Hit K to open the Skills menu; you'll be presented with a table of every skill in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, and your progress towards their max level of 99.
Clicking on a skill will display the total XP you need to obtain to reach the next level. You'll also see the Skill Tree.
The Skill Tree shows you at what levels you'll unlock new abilities/spells, traits or buffs. Hovering over a milestone will display the details of any unlocks so you know what to expect as you progress!
